Video description

Chris Carter demonstrates how to make a compass from a strip of paper. The size of the circle depends on where the holes are punched in the strip of paper. No ruler is necessary. This compass may be used to make all of the polygons and three dimensional polyhedra that will be presented in her series of videos, Art and Form. Chris sketches daily, exploring the basic geometric structures in nature as well as the world of man made objects. Her sketchbook drawings hone her skills for her studio paintings, intuitive paintings of orbs and energy moving through space as if dancing to the rhythm of the universe. She works primarily in watercolor and oil.
