This free, downloadable B-roll footage from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is for use by news media and education organizations. This high-resolution video features clips of a pilot cellulosic biomass biorefinery in York, Nebraska, including wide establishing shots of the refinery, cellulosic feedstock samples (agricultural waste), raw feedstock intake hopper and piping, pre-treatment hopper/sifter used to grind up cellulosic biomass solids, pre-treated biomass solids ready for sugar extraction and fermentation, digestor tanks used to hydrolize biomass solids and break them to down to sugars, large fermentation tanks where yeast is added to turn sugars into ethanol, workers taking an ethanol sample, lab testing of hydrolized ethanol made from corn stover, and an ethanol plan control room.
